Sri Batuka Bhairava Ashtoththara Shathanama Sthothram – Sri Kalasankarshana Thanthroktham - Lyrics and meaning

Sri Batuka Bhairava Sthothra is highly propitious hymns composed by Kalagni Rudra, it has Anushtup as Chandhass,  presiding deity is Apathudhdharaka Sri Batuka Bhairava, Hreem as Beejam, Bhairavivallabha as Shakthi, Neelavarnna Dhandapani as Keelakam, it is recited to get freed from enemies and troubles, it fulfils all the desires of the worshiper.


I shall prostrate before Kalagnirudra Rishi and offer humble homage with my head, I shall  prostrate before Kalagnirudra and offer humble homage with my face, I shall prostrate before Apathdhudhdharaka Sri Batuka Bhairava and  offer humble homage with my heart, I shall prostrate before Sri Batuka Bairava and offer humble salutation to Hreem Beejam which is highly confidential, I shall prostrate before Bhairavivallabha who represents Shakthi  and offer humble salutation by touching the feet, I shall prostrate before Neelavarnna Dhandapani who represents Keelakam, and offer humble salutation by touching my navel, I shall prostrate before Batuka Bhairava and it is recited to get freed from all the enemies and troubles, and get all the desires fulfilled.

I shall meditate upon Sri Batuka Bhairava who has the complexion of rain clouds, he is supreme ascetic with matted hair locks, his eyes are blood colored, he has fierce protruding teeth, he is adorned in serpent as sacred thread across the chest, he has vicious teeth and hold Kapalam on his hand, he is smeared in sacred ashes all the over body, he is adorned in Nagaraja/king of serpent on his waist, he is youthful and he is attired in directions as garment, he is decked in marvelous anklets that produces jinkling noises, his powerful foot steps quivers the ground underneath, he is accompanied by spirits and ghosts, he is seated on the middle of Yogini Chakra, he is encircled by Mathrumandala, he produces defeaning noises, he has dreadful appearance and the contration of his eye brows are enough to intimidate his enemies, he is too enthusiastic to protect his worshiper, he keeps exploring all over the Earth in order to protect his devotees.


I shall meditate upon Sri Batuka Bhairava who symbolizes the sacred syllable ‘Om Hreem’, he is the provider of abundance of boons to worshiper, he is extremely valorous, he is Bhairava and Kalabhairava as well, he is the  dearest consort of Bhairavi, he is pleasant, he carries Dandam, he is too compassionate, he has Vethala as celestial vehicle, he has dreadful appearance, he is manifestion of Rudra, he creates trepidation in enemies with the  movements of eye brows, he carries Kapala, he is attractive, he eradicates all the miseries and sorrows of the worshiper, he is valorous, he is decked in Harinangaka/crescent moon as jewel on the head, he is formidable, he has dreadful appearance and he is the destroyer of wicked people, he is adorned in serpent as garland, he is decked in serpent on his head, he is decked in serpent as ear ornament, he is Kapali who carries skull, he is too compassionate, he resides on the funeral grounds, he consumes meat and nectar, he produces boisterous voices, he is euloquent, he is inseparable from his consort, he follows strict austerities, he is beloved of Vamadeva, he merrily explores through the dense wood, he enthusiastically explore during the dark hours of night, he symbolizes auspiciousness, he provides wealth and prosperity, he has the speed of wind, he is Yogi who follows strict Yogic practices, he undertakes severe austerities and penances, he is the consort of Yogini, he is youthful, he is Veerabhadhra and Vishwanatha as well, he is retrained, he is worhsiped by warriors, he is the leader of Ganas, he is embodied as Earth, he eradicates the fear of evil spirts, he is pure, he is dark complexioned, he can be formidable to wicked,  he has dog as celestial vehicle, he is firm and impenetrable, he is young brother to Gananatha/Lord Shiva, he is  son of Devi, he is divine personified, he has great effulgence, his eyes are lustrous, he is fond of great army, he is honorable, he is Madhavamathula/maternal uncle of Madhava, he is the consort of Bhadhrakali, he is auspicious, he is the provider of auspiciousness to worshiper, he has auspicious celestial vehicle, he takes immense pleasure in the association of herdsmen, he carries noose, he is Pashupathi and he is the Lord of the Universe and its living beings, he is fierce and passionate as well, he is Chandesha who is the delight of Chandi, he is wise, he destroyed the Yagna of Dhakshaprajapathi, he is an mendicant, he has long eyes, he is devoid of afflictions and changes, he represents Kalpa and he is Kalpanthabhairava who causes the deluge at the end of Kalpa, he takes immense pleasure in the consumption of nectar and merrily performs dance, he is beloved of Mahadeva, he is great, he is wielded in Gadga, intoxicated drink, and trident, he penetrates through the Bhramanda, he is Bhramajjyani who has profound knowledge of Bhramam, he is the protector of Bhramin who follows Bhraminic rites, he explores through all direction and the whole of the Earth, he destroys wicked people and critical illnesses, he fulfils all the desires of the worshiper, he is Sharva who eradicates all the sins of the worshiper.


The above are the sacred hymns praising the splendor of Sri Batuka Bhairava which is highly propitious, whoever read or listens to it on daily basis would be blessed with all kinds of richness and wealth, it eradicates all kinds of perils, whoever write the above sacred verses and install in their homes or adorn on their neck or arm would attain permanent wealth and prosperity, worshiper would be freed from miseries,  fear of thieves,  threat from king and Dakini, worshiper would be freed from poor memory and diseases that causes troubled function of the brain, worshiper would be freed from the fear of Kooshmanda and evil effects caused by the changes in the planetary positions, it eradicates untimely and accidental death or death causes by fever, if it is  recited regularly for a month during the hours of dusk after following austerities, worshiper would be relieved from sufferings of poverty and blessed with abundance of wealth, if it is recited for two months, worshiper would be blessed with super natural powers, worship of Batuka Bhairava with Anjjanam/kajol Gudika, Gadgam, Dhathuvadharasayanam/intoxicated drink, wood apple tree stick, and Vethalavahanam, followed by the recitation of these scacred hymns would provide success in all the endeavors and Mahasiddhi, if it is continued for an year the worshiper would become prominent among the Sadhakas, it is highly confidential method of worship which was narrated by Devi, it eradicates all the evil effects of Kali era and the worshiper would attain permanent grace of Ambika.
