Sri Gita Govinda Mahakavyam - Sri Jayadeva Ashtapadi – 10 - Lyrics and meanings

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

Madhuripu/ enemy of demon Madhu/Lord Krishna appointed the closest companion of Radharani to pacify Radharani,  pass on his messages, and bring her back to him, eventually, the dearest friend of Radharani returned to her and expressed  “ Oh! Radhe, the atmosphere is filled with the cool breeze of Malaya and all are besieged with the cupid arrows of Manmatha, Oh! Radhe, all the fresh alluring flowers are blooming with an intention to rip open the hearts that are suffering the pain of separation, Oh! Radhe, Vanamali who is decked in various fresh alluring flowers from wood is completely besieged by the pain of separation from you.  Oh! Radhe, the cool rays of the moon is painful for him and it threatens him to death,  Oh! Radhe, his heart is already pierced by the flowers from the cupid arrows of Manmatha and he is lamenting over the separation from you. Oh! Radhe, Vanamali is completely besieged by the pain of separation from you.  Oh! Radhe, he closely covers his ears from the reverberating noises of the swarm of bees, he is completely soaked in the pain of separation from you, every night he expects your arrival and patiently waiting for the union with you. Oh! Radhe, Vanamali is completely besieged by the pain of separation from you.  Oh! Radhe, he had abandoned his luxurious home for your sake, Oh! Radhe, he is rolling on the ground and repeatedly calling your name with the intense pain of separation from you. Oh! Radhe, Vanamali is completely besieged by the pain of separation from you.

The above are the glorious verses composed by poet Sri Jayadeva with intense devotion, depicting the unbearable pain of separation of Lord Krishna, May Lord Hari bless us with abundance of meritorious reward.
