I shall surrender to the lotus feet of
Lord Adithya who dwells in Udhayadhri and spreads supreme brilliance of
precious gem, he is fascinating to lotus flowers, he destroys illnesses,
impurities and greatest of the sins, he is Amshumali. I shall surrender to the lotus feet of Lord
Aditya who removes the intense darkness, he is beyond perception, and he lures
the hearts of living beings in the Universe.
I shall surrender to the lotus feet of supreme Lord Adithya, who is
known through Veda and philosophies, he is not perceivable through bare eyes,
he is the sole light to the Universe that appears marvelously at the hours of
dawn and dusk. I shall surrender to
the lotus feet of supreme Lord Adithya who affirms the difference of day and
night, he is mysterious and eternal, he is supreme Lord whose glories are
eulogized by the deities. I shall
prostrate before supreme Lord Adithya who is the essence of sacred Veda and
sacred scriptures, he is unharmed by Jara/aging or Maranam/death, he is supreme
Lord with majestic looks, he has supreme brilliance. I shall surrender to the lotus feet of
supreme Lord Adithya who has majestic chariot drawn by the horses that has the colors
of Shuka/parrot and the lips of parrot; he is the commander of
Jyothirmandala/solar celestial sphere. I
shall surrender to the lotus feet of Lord Surya who is fond of his ardent
devotees, he is the destroyer of all the sins, he is eternal, he is the cause
of Universe. I shall surrender to the lotus
feet of Lord Surya who explore through the heights of Mount Meru on his
celestial chariot.
Whoever recites or listens to the
glorious verses of Suryashtakam with utmost devotion and faith would be
relieved from all kinds of illnesses and sins, ultimately attains the
effulgence of Lord Surya.
