Sage Agasthya spoke “Victory to Goddess
Sri Mahalakshmi who is seated on the lotus flower and she has wide beautiful
eyes, Victory to Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi who is the darling of Lord
Vishnu/Sripathipriye, Victory to Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi who is the Mother of the
all the living beings and guides them to cross the ocean of Samsara. I shall repeatedly eulogize the glories of
Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi who is the Goddess of all the deities/Sureshwari, she
is the darling of Lord Hari and symbol of mercy. I shall repeatedly eulogize the glories of
Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi who dwells in the lotus flower, she is omnipresent and
works for the welfare of the living beings, I shall earnestly pray to shower
your eternal grace and wealth on us. I
shall prostrate before the Mother of the Universe, Oh! Dhayanidhe/symbol of
mercy, Oh! Vishweshari/Goddess of the Universe, I shall prostrate before
Goddess Sri Mahalskhmi who dwells in the milky ocean and symbol of wealth, she
carries the three worlds and she is the provider of wealth, I shall earnestly
pray to protect us. Oh!
Devadeveshi/Goddess of the Lords, Oh! Devadevasya
Vallabhe, I shall earnestly pray to remove our poverty and shower your eternal
grace on us. Oh! Thrailokhya
Janani/Goddess of the three worlds, Oh!
Thrailokhyapavani, who is worshiped by Lord Bhrama and deities, she is the
provider of eternal bliss. Oh!
Vishnupriye/darling of Lord Vishnu, I shall repeatedly prostrate before you,
Oh! Jagaddhithe, I shall earnestly pray to protect us from worldly matters and
shower your eternal grace. Oh! Abjavase,
Oh! Chapala/unsteady, Oh! Chanchala/unstable,
Oh ! Lalitha /cherished, I shall prostrate before you, Oh! Pradhyumnajanani,
Oh! Mother, I shall completely surrender at your lotus feet, kindly protect
us. Oh! Kamla, who dwells in the lotus
flower and keen to protect people who are surrendered at your lotus feet, I am
completely exhausted, I shall prostrate before you, kindly protect me. You are the provider of eternal wisdom and
knowledge, supreme virtues and morality, none of these are available without
your compassionate grace, therefore achievement of all the virtues and beauty is solely depend upon your kindness. Oh! Devi, virtuous people who attained your
eternal grace would remain unblemished and sinless, they are honored by kings
and people, whoever attained your grace would remain virtuous and even the
wicked people remain righteous and prominent, ultimately they immerse in the
veneration of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, they remain honored for their supreme intellect
by their clan, eventually they create presence of you in everything. Oh! Devi, even Lord Bhrama, Lord Rudra, Lord
Chandhra, Lord Surya and deities are incompetent to describe your splendor,
therefore how could it is possible for me? Oh! Mother, kindly protects me with
your eternal grace. Oh! Devi who is the
symbol of mercy, I am completely worn out of fears, sorrows and grief of
Samsara, I am helpless, kindly shower your eternal grace and wealth on us. Oh! Haripriye, I shall surrender at your
lotus feet, kindly provide destitute with clothes, wealth and food. Oh! Devi, you are my mother, father, Bhratha
and Sakha as well, kindly provide me with supreme knowledge. Oh! Sureshwari, Oh! Jaganmatha, kindly remove
poverty from our lives, Oh!
Jagaddhathri/who carries the whole Universe, Oh! Dharmadhare/provider of
righteousness, Oh! Rame, I shall prostrate before you, kindly remove famine on
Earth and provide us abundance of wealth.
Oh! Haripriye, I shall promise you I shall be honest with you, I have no
place of shelter other than you.”
Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi was extremely pleased with the above words eulogized
by Sage Agasthya and blessed him, further she melodiously praised Sage Agasthya
for the construction of the above sacred hymns which is highly fortunate to
listen or recite, she promised that whoever reads or listens to the above
marvelous verses would be blessed with
her eternal presence. Whoever reads or
listen the above verses on daily basis with utmost faith and devotion would be
blessed with triumph in all endeavors and relieved from the pain of separation,
whoever reads or listens to the above verses on the early hours of dawn would
be blessed with the eternal presence of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi along with Lord
Vishnu, worshiper would be blessed with all kinds of luxuries, happiness,
virtues, intelligence and wealth, virtuous offspring etc.. The above sacred verses are composed by
Sage Agasthya praising the glories of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, in order to give
pleasure to Lord Vishnu as well. Whoever
reads or listens to the above verses constructed by Sage Agasthya for the
welfare of all the living beings which is capable to remove greatest of the
sins, would remain unharmed by Bhootha, Pretha, Pishacha and Vyaghra, illicit
associations, fears, perils and various sins, ultimately worshiper would remain
unconquerable with all the happiness, good health and long life.
