Sri Shivananda Lahari !! Lyrics & Its meaning 61 – 70

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

Oh! Lord Pasupathi, I earnestly request for firm devotion at your lotus feet.  A staunch devotion like the seeds of Ankola trees remains close to it, a needle attached to the magnet, a chaste woman devoted to her husband, a creeper stays close to the tree and the river merges with the ocean water.

Oh! Lord, sincere devotion at the lotus feet of Lord is the mother who bathes her devotee as her child with the tears of bliss and clothed in unblemished attire, the words pronounced are the divine conch used for singing the nectar like glories of Lord which would feed the stomach.   The sacred Rudraksha and holy ash gives protection to the physical body and make her child sleep in the cradle of meditation.

Oh! Lord Pasupathi, your staunch devotee Kannappa Nayanar’s worn out sandals becomes the sacred Kusha/Dharbha grass on your head.  Oh! Tripurari, his saliva turns out sacred water for your sacred bathe; the remaining of the relished meat becomes a feast for you, in this way a hunter who wanders in the woodland turns out a staunch devotee of you.  Amazed to watch the devotion can make wonders!

Oh! Lord Gauripathi ! Your soft pairs of lotus feet have defeated Lord Yama, thrashed the demon Apasmara/illusion and they are capable to wipe out the darkness of ignorance, joyfully pass through the woods, creates a rasp noise of the crown of deities while they prostrate before you.  I earnestly pray to wear my heart as your gem studded sandals and resume your voyage persistently.

Oh! Lord Bhavanipathi, whoever continuously recites your holy names and venerates your lotus feet has nothing impossible to attain or accomplish, even Lord Yama scares to get closer to your staunch devotee, because it reminds him your spank on his chest.  The deities worship you with the sparkle from their gem studded crown; salvation/liberation embraces you like a young maiden.

Oh! Lord Shambhu, who creates this Universe for sport, the creatures’ dwells in is deer in your hands and remains your playmates.   Oh! Lord Pasupathi, I am one amongst the creatures; whatever I do should give pleasure to you, because your delight is the cause for my movement.  Hence, I deserve to be protected by you.

Oh! Lord Sadasiva, I surrender upon the lotus feet of you which are capable to provide immense happiness and bliss creates tears of joy and eternal peace for the devotees who seek liberation.

Oh! Lord Pasupathi, Oh! Compassionate Lord who is the provider of eternal bliss, I earnestly pray to you to protect me and my devotion towards you, like a calf resides in the cow shelter which yields for unlimited ambrosia of joy.

Oh! Lord, I am not a brainless individual, I don’t act like an animal, I am not an individual easily get distressed, I am not a person aimlessly wanders.  Oh! Lord Rajamouli, If I have any of the above weakness in me, I am deserved to be a decoration piece worn by you.

Oh! Lord Rajashekara, who adores Lord Chandra on his matted hair locks, you are propitious, provider of numerous auspicious rewards to your devotees and personification of graciousness, remains unreachable for all the 14 worlds, I earnestly request you to reside in my heart.  Therefore, you are all pervading and easily worship able by heart and mind as well.
