|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

|| Shankara ||

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Your momentary looks are filled with various emotions, your glance towards your consort Lord Shiva is full of love and your glances at others are aversion, your glance at Ganga is full of envious, while listening to the heroic deeds of Lord Shiva your glance turns wondrous, your glance becomes terrified at the serpents worn as ornaments by Lord Shiva, your glance becomes joyous while you meet your companions.  Your fleeting looks are marvelous and red in color which represents the valor in you.  Oh! Janani who is the mother of Universe, I shall pray for your glance filled with compassion.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, daughter of Himavan, You have those marvelous eyes that has extended up to ears which has the resemblance of the bow of Lord Kamadeva.  The astonishing eyelashes resemble the feathery wings attached to the cupid arrow.  Your beautiful eyes and eye lashes has the power to disturb the serenity of the mind of Lord Tripurari, who is the  destroyer of the three cities.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Lord Bhrama, Lord Vishnu and Lord Rudra ceased to function at the time of deluge.  Your three eyes reveal three different colors after applying the shades which represents the important qualities of Rajas, Sathva and Tamas to recreate the trinities.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, whose heart is immersed in the thoughts of Lord Pasupathi,  Your three merciful eyes are in colors of Red, White and Black which resembles the three holy river Sonabhadhra, Ganga and Yamuna who is daughter of Lord Surya respectively.  The confluence of these sacred rives was introduced by you to wash off our sins and purify us.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, as per the learned men it is believed that the deluge occur when your eyes are closed and the creations recommences when you open your eyes.  Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, I  shall earnestly pray to never close your eyes and protect the universe from the deluge.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Oh! Aparna, your beautiful eyes has stretched up to ears which creates an impression that the striking fishes swimming crosswise in the water, as if complaining the movements of them to your ears.  Your lotus eyes avoid the bud of blue lily during the day hours and returns to witness the blue lily come into flower in the night hours.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, I am your passionate devotee in a miserable state living far away from you, I shall earnestly prays to bathe me in the ocean of your compassion.  Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, I shall request you to shower your divine and merciful glance on me, with those beautiful eyes shines like the slightly opened bud of blue lily, in the same manner Lord Chandra illuminates the dark forest and palaces.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, daughter of King of Mountains, the marvelous rim between the eyes and ears gave out an impression of flower bow of Lord Kamadeva, the stunning glance of your beautiful eyes extended up to your ears gives out an impression that the arrows are ready to discharge.

Oh Goddess Sri Shakthi, Your mirror like cheeks reflects the pair of ear studs adorned, gives out an impression of chariot with four wheels.  Lord Manmatha desires to ride on this magnificent chariot to entice Lord Shiva, who is mounted on a chariot made of Earth has Lord Surya and Lord Chandra as its wheels.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Your melodious voice like nectar stream incessantly to the ear stud of Goddess Sri Saraswathi.  Goddess Sri Saraswathy quavers her head in appreciation and her precious ear stud makes jingling sounds.
