Kashi Panchakam by Sri Adishankaracharya – Lyrics & meanings

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

Kashi is a sacrosanct place of absolute consciousness/Bhramam, which could provide self realization, peace of mind and eternal bliss with the presence of the sacred Manikarnika and Ganga which is the flow of enlightment.

Kashi is a sacrosanct place of absolute consciousness/Bhramam, which is the form of Sacchithsukha/eternal bliss and it is the form of ‘Paramathma’, while the whole Universe and its living beings are beisiged with illusion and engaged in the playfulness of the mind.

Kashi is a sacrosanct place of absolute consciousness/Bhramam, while the five state of self/Panchakosha Thathva prevails in the intellect of all the living beings is known as the presence of illusion/Maya due to the presence of Goddess Bhavani.

Kashi is a sacrosanct place of absolute consciousness/Bhramam, it is a dazzling city with its eternal presence, who realiaze its splendor and attains self realization would be known as Kashi, therefore Kashi illuminates everything with its magnificent radiance.

Human body itself treated as the sacrosanct Kashi with the presence of self realization and true intelligence like the course of sacred Ganga that flow all over the three worlds.  The sincere devotion/Bhakthi, dedication/Shraddha and meditation upon the lotus feet of preceptor/Guru with the practice of Yoga are considered as Prayaga.  Lord Vishwesha, the super soul resides in the Antharathma/ as soul in all the living beings and witnesses, therefore it is unnecessary to take up pilgrimage while all those significant aspects dwells in the body of a virtuous soul.
