Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam !! Lyrics & meanings –Sthothram 21 – 30




Jai Sriman Narayana !!













I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Vishnu, he is Marichir who has great effulgence, he is Damana/Yama who inflicts agony on the wicked people and destroys them, he is Hamsa who is supreme preceptor, he removes extreme fears of worldly existence, he has the luster of lotus flower, he has powerful arms, he is Hiranyagarbha who holds lotus flower on navel which is the resting place of  Lord Brahma,  he is Suthapa who undergoes extreme  austerities and peanance ,  he is Padmanabha who has lotus flower on  navel, he is Prajapathi who is master of  living beings in this Universe.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Vishnu who is immortal, he witnesses the Karma of living beings, he carries out the function of destruction at the end of Yuga,  he is eternal,  he dwells in the lotus like heart of devotees, he  eradicates wicked demons, he is powerful, he imparts the knowledge of Bhramam and enlightens the soul to follow righteous path,   he is Vishruthathma who is the essence of truth and wisdom, he mercilessly destroys the enemies of Sura.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Vishnn, he is  supreme preceptor who imparts the knowledge of Brahmam, he is store house of virtues, he is absolute truth, he is radiant, he is valorous, he undergoes Yoganidra/cosmic sleep.   He is Sragvi who is decked in various flower garlands and  precious gem Vaijayanthi, he is Vachaspathi who is eloquent,  he symbolizes terminology,  wisdom and knowledge.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Vishnu who is the provider liberation from repeated births, he is Sriman who is the consort of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, he symbolizes wealth and richness, he is flawless, he is impartial,  he governs the Universe, he has various incarnations, he has thousands of heads, he is Vishvathma who is the soul of the Universe, he  has thousands of eyes and feet.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Vishnu who is the cause for the rotation of the wheel of worldly existence, he is the source of  worldly existence,  he is Nivruthathma who is unbounded by worldly bondage, he is not perceivable through senses, he has various manifestations such as Lord Aditya, Lord Agni, etc… he is Dharanidhara who is the consort of Earth, he has embodied as Earth, he undertakes the function of the Universe.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord  Vishnu, he is Suprasada who is merciful and easily get pleased, he is Prasannathma who has pleasing disposition and he is void of  Rajas or Tamasic qualities, he is Vishvabhug who absorbs the entire creations at the time of delusion, he takes pleasure in it and restore the same once again.  He has various incarnations, he provides abundance of merits, he is unblemished and impartial, He is Janur who is supreme soul, he dissolves the entire living beings at the time of deluge,  he is Narayana who reclines on serpent Anantha  in the milky ocean.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Vishnu who is the essence of righteousness, he is provider of boons, he dissolves the Universe and its living beings at the time of deluge, he is perceivable to the righteous  who yearns for supreme bliss, he is the source of offspring, he is immeasurable,  he is  Shruthisagara who is the manifestation of Shruthi/Veda.  I shall prostrate before supreme  Lord Vishnu who has powerful arms, he is the protector of the Universe, he is unparalleled, he is the essence of Veda,  he is Mahendra who is the Lord of Universe, he is the provider of wealth and prosperity,  he is Vasu who symbolizes wealth, he resides as soul in living beings,  he  has various incarnations, he is Bhruhathroopi who has mystic forms  and  has great effulgence, he symbolizes Siddhi and he is the provider of all kinds of super natural powers, he symbolizes virtues and piousness, and he illuminates the Universe with his presence.  I shall prostrate before supreme  Lord Vishnu who has possessed golden vitality and radiance, he is Prathapana who afflicts pain on the wicked,  he is Vruddha who provides abundance of righteousness, richness, wisdom and renunciation,  he is the essence of Pranavamanthra “Om” and he represents four branches of Vedas such as Rig, Yajur,Sama and Atharva,  he is Chandramshu who resembles to  cool rays of moon in the night hours, in order to alleviate the agonies and sorrows of the worldly existence,  he is Bhaskaradhyuthi who represents the radiance of Sun which is the  source of life and energy.
